Declaration of National Indaba on Local Government

The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CGTA) has released the Declaration of the National Indaba on Local Government, which took place last week. More than 1 000 representatives from the three spheres of government, the private sector, trade unions, NGOs, traditional authorities and other organisations gathered at the event to reflect on the state of local government and help develop a turnaround strategy to address the many challenges preventing effective service delivery.
