Determination of upper limits of salaries, allowances and benefits of councillors

The Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers on 12 November 2009 recommended that the upper limit of the annual remuneration of members of local government institutions be increased by 8% for the financial year commencing 1 July 2009. However, the President approved the annual remuneration to be 7%.

Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Sicelo Shiceka, signed the determination and this was promulgated on 21 December 2009 in the Government Gazette No.32833. A copy of the determination notice can be viewed or downloaded below.
