Service delivery hearings coming to a municipality near you

Parliament's ad-hoc committee on Co-ordinated Oversight on Service Delivery will host three days of public hearings around the state of service delivery from 2 to 4 February 2010. These will be followed by a series of committee visits to municipalities around the country to hear first-hand how local residents, business, local and provincial government officials, ward committees as well as civil society organisations are experiencing the delivery of services in their areas.
The committee has been tasked with assessing service delivery and in particular progress in areas where there have been frequent service delivery protests in the recent past. The committee is expected to table to a report to the National Assembly with recommendations and a proposed implementation plan later this year.
Members of the public are encouraged to join. The schedule for public hearings are:
