Co-operative Governance Minister Sicelo Shiceka is leading a government delegation on a study tour to Belgium to investigate how ICT solutions can be leveraged to improve services on the ground.
A report on the department’s website states that Shiceka is learning about a tool to drive integrated service delivery and support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems. But a report from Fin24 explains that the ICT system Shiceka is looking at is used to speed up applications for grants, and also other documents like marriage certificates and IDs which are the responsibility of other government departments.
Shiceka is already in talks with Vodacom to launch the project within 14 months.
